Panthers Run to Peoria for Bradley Classic

Cedar Falls - The Panthers head to Peoria, Illinois to run in the Pink Classic hosted by Bradley University. Women will compete in a 6K run slated to begin at 3:00pm on Friday October 15th, against 8 of the 10 conference teams. Men will compete in an 8K run slated for 3:45pm against 7 of the 9 conference teams. This will be the last race the Panthers will compete in before the Missouri Valley Conference Meet on October 29th.Â
ÂFor the women runners to watch include freshman Kiki Connell, after setting a new personal best in the 6K with a time of 21:28.8 at the Gans Creek Classic. Connell moves to tie for 10th place in UNI Cross Country history. Additionally, Kate Crawford also leads the way in the 6K with a time of 22:33.9 set at the Red Bird Invite earlier this season. Sophia Jungling also runs strong for the women with her best time being 22:56.1 in the 6K set at the Gans Creek Classic as well.Â
ÂRunners for the men include Sam McCool with his best time in the 8K being 25:13.2 set at the Red Bird Invite. David Holesinger ran well at this meet in 2019 stopping the clock at 25:53.1 setting his current personal best in the 8K. Scholar-Athlete Andrew Kephart also ran well at this course setting his personal best in the 8K in 2018 with a time of 26.14.6. Andrew Kephart has also just been announced as the scholar-athlete of the week in the Missouri Valley Conference.Â
ÂThis will be the Panther's last meet of the 2021 season before the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships on October 29th hosted by Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.Â
