
Panthers push ahead at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. - The Panthers competed at the Bradley Pink Classic Oct. 15. Both men and women raced in the red race category with the men finishing 28th, and the women finished in 18th. The men averaged a time of 26:03.6 in the 8K and the women averaged 22:23.6 in the 6K.
Top runner for the women is Kiki Connell matching her personal best time in the 6K with a time of 21:28.8. Kate Crawford set a new time in the 6K with a time of 22:19.9 replacing her previous time by 14 seconds. Seniors Paige Holub and Mia Rampton also set new bests in the 6K. Holub crushed her previous time by 19 seconds, similarly to Jill Vonnahme. Vonnahme set a new best in the 6K with a 22 second improvement, moving her best time to 23:24.4.
Payton Marrs led the men by setting his new best in the 8K by 24 seconds, stopping the clock at 25:24.3. Freshman Brady Griebel demolishes his previous performance in the 8K by a minute and seven seconds, moving his time to 25:47.4. Drake Hanson also sets a new best by 23 seconds, making his new 8K time 26:30.8.
The Panthers head back to Normal, Illinois, Oct. 29 to compete in the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Illinois State.
