
Rucker, Raines, Green and Steiert Named Student-Athletes of the Month

Karli Rucker, Taylor Raines, AJ Green and Bryce Steiert were named February's UNI Athletics Student-Athletes of the Month for their outstanding performances during January.Â
Karli Rucker averaged a team-high 12.8 points in eight games with 33 assists and 31 rebounds in January. She led all Panthers with 102 points, including a 28-point performance in the win over Evansville. She was 36-89 (40.4%) from the field. She had a career-high eight assists against Drake. Rucker is an Elementary Education major and multi-semester member of the Dean's List and Athletic director's Honor Roll.
Taylor Raines sits first in the conference after running a season-best time of 24.31 in the 200-meter dash at the Bison Team Cup on Jan. 18. She also won the 60-meter dash at the same meet and is ranked eighth in the MVC. She was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that is ranked third in the MVC. Taylor is a Movement and Exercise Science major with a pre-professional chiropractic emphasis. She has earned multiple Dean's list and Athletic Director's Honor Roll marks.
AJ Green averaged 23.6 points and 3.4 points while shooting 47.5% from the field, 48.5% from the three-point line and 42-43 (97.7%) from the free-throw line. He was named the MVC Player of the Week twice and was also named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List. He has 35-point against Bradley and scored 25 or more points five times. UNI went 7-1 in January. Movement and Green is an Exercise Science major with a Coaching minor. He has multiple semesters on the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor roll.
Bryce Steiert went 6-0 in January with two technical falls and four major decisions. He earned Tech falls against Utah Valley and Northern Colorado. With major decisions against SDSU, Air Force, No. 18 Jeremiah Kent from Missouri, No. 15 Anthony Mantanona from Oklahoma and No. 14 Joe Smith from Oklahoma State. Steiert is a Management: Business Administration major and has earned multiple semesters on the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
