UNI Wrestling Named NCAA Team of the Week

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Wrestling jumped from No. 20 to No. 15 in the NWCA Wrestling Coaches Poll, the largest jump of any team in the poll and were also named the Division I Team of the Week by the NCAA.

The jump comes after an impressive win over Oklahoma State Saturday night in from of 4,006 people at the McLeod Center. The Panthers picked up six bout victories and earned bonus points from Bryce Steiert with a major decision at 174.

UNI is now 5-3 in duals this season, but have won four straight duals, including two against ranked opponents Missouri and Oklahoma State.

The Panthers have another test at hand this week when they face Oklahoma in Norman at 3 p.m.

While we're on the topic of awards, it's time to announce the Team of the Week! After a weekend of big duals, it's only fair to honor the team that earned an upset win & made the biggest jump in the NWCA poll, moving from No. 20 to No. 15.
