Panther Wrestling Hosts No. 9 Oklahoma State

No. 18 UNI wrestling hosts No. 9 Oklahoma State in the McLeod Center Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The Panthers come in with a surge of confidence after dominant wins over Northern Colorado and Air Force last weekend outscoring their opponents 62-18.Â
• Jack Skudlarcxyk broke into the FloWrestling poll and Jacob Holschlag returned to the TrackWrestling Poll so eight Panthers are ranked across various polls. Jay Schwarm (125), Jack Skudlarczyk (133), Michael Blockhus (141), Max Thomsen (149), Bryce Steiert (174), Taylor Lujan (184), Jacob Holschlag and Carter Isley (285) are all ranked.Â
• The Cowboys bring in seven ranked wrestlers according to FloWrestling. Those ranked include Nick Piccininni (125), Dusty Hone (141), Boo Lewallen (149),  Wyatt Sheets (157), Travis Wittlake (165), Anthony Montalvo (184) and Daota Geer (197). The Panthers are on a mission to disrupt Oklahoma State's undefeated dual record in the Big 12 this Saturday evening. The Cowboys are 7-1 in duals and 3-0 in Big 12.
• Taylor Lujan and Bryce Steiert both have Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors. Lujan was named the Big-12 Wrestler of the Week after winning Midlands and picking an MD in the Utah Valley Dual. It is the four of his career and the second on the season for UNI. He earned his 100th win last Friday against South Dakota State. Steiert earned Big-12 Wrestler of the Week honors after taking second at the Cliff Keen Invite.Â
• Lujan and Bryce Steiert are both 19-2 on the season. Three Panther Wrestlers are 14-6 on the year.Â
• Jay Schwarm picked up his 11th pin on the season and his 45th career pin Friday at Northern Colorado.Â
• The Panther Train won their first eight bouts Friday against Northern Colorado to earn a 32-6 win. The Panthers kept the train rolling with a 28-12 victory against Air Force.
• After a weekend in Colorado, the Panthers find themselves with a 4-3 record in duals this season and 3-1 in Big 12 action.Â
