CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The 15th ranked UNI wrestling team will make its long awaited home debut on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers open up Big 12 Conference dual competition, hosting the North Dakota State Bison. Northern Iowa will also send athletes to compete on Saturday in Kearney, Nebraska at the Younes Hospitality Open.
Sunday's dual with the Bison will begin at 1 p.m. CT inside the McLeod Center with live coverage available on FloWrestling and CFU Channel 15 with Jeff Bradley and Jim Miller on the call.

Fans will also be treated to post-match autographs on the north concourse of the McLeod Center with free posters while supplies last.
Northern Iowa has dominated NDSU on the mat in dual competition with a 25-3-1 record all-time against the Bison and wins in its last four meetings. The Panthers topped the Bison last February in Fargo, 33-6.
UNI went an impressive 9-1 in home duals last season with its lone loss coming to No. 3 Oklahoma State. The Panthers also captured the NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Meet championship at home with wins over Sacred Heart, Ohio, Northern Colorado and South Dakota State in the UNI-Dome.
Northern Iowa opens its home schedule after opening dual competition at the National Duals Invitational in Tulsa last weekend. The Panthers dropped their opening round matchup to No. 7 North Carolina State by a score of 27-8 before a win over No. 12 Cornell (26-8) and a loss to No. 9 Minnesota (22-16).
UNI also got its first taste of open tournament action last weekend as well, crowning five champions at the Grand View Open in Garret Rinken (133 pounds) and Ethan Basile (149 pounds) in the open division, and Jace Hedeman (133 pounds), Max Brady (141 pounds) and Logan Paradice (149 pounds) in the freshman/sophomore division in their collegiate debuts.
SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA STATE
Led by third year head coach Obenson Blanc, the Bison come to Cedar Falls after splitting their first two duals of the year, a 36-3 loss at Wisconsin on Nov. 1 and a 46-0 shutout of Concordia-Morehead on Nov.13. NDSU has also competed at the Jimmie Open, Bison Open and Daktronics Invitational this fall to begin the year.
The Bison placed ninth at the 2025 Big 12 Championships in Tulsa and 37th at the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia. Of NDSU's four NCAA qualifiers, three return this season led by All-American Gavin Drexler (149 pounds), who has since moved up to 157 pounds. The Bison also return Aidan Brenot at 184 pounds and Tristan Daugherty at 133 pounds, the later of whom competed at 125 pounds last year.
