UNI Women's Basketball Hosts Evansville, Indiana State

UNI returns home for the first time since Dec. 15 and hosts Evansville and Indiana State in a pair of Missouri Valley Conference tilts. The Panthers enter the weekend with a 9-5 record and a 1-2 MVC mark after opening conference play with three straight road games, including games against preseason first and second ranked teams Drake and Missouri State. This weekend, the Panthers welcome two teams that have struggled to find a groove this season. Evansville enters the weekend with a 3-12 record while Indiana State is 2-14 on the season. Both teams have yet to win a Valley game. 
• The Panthers split the weekend road trip to Southern Illinois and Missouri State with a 60-57 win over the Salukis before falling to No. 18 Missouri State 80-66.Â
• UNI closed non-conference with the most non-conference wins in school history (8), three wins over Power-Five Schools and an undefeated home record.Â
• Karli Rucker leads UNI at 12.9 points per game and Kam Finley is second for UNI with 11.4 PPG. Bre Gunnels leads with the team with 5.7 rebounds per game and Megan Maahs is averaging 4.5 RPG.Â
• Evansville owns wins on the season over Marshall and Chicago State, but have yet to find a rhythm in conference and opponents are averaging over 80 points per game in the four league games. Abby Feit leads UE with 14.4 points per game while Lola Bracy averages 14.3.
• Indiana State has wins over Eastern Illinois and the University of Illinois Chicago. The Sycamores are also winless in Valley play and are being outscored by opponents by 14 ppg. No ISU players average double figures, Jamyra McChristine leads the way with 9.1 ppg.Â
• The Panthers are ranked fifth in the NCAA in free-throw percentage at 78.5%. UNI is also 18th in the NCAA with 8.6 three-pointers made per game.Â
• UNI has played in the postseason in nine of the last 10 seasons, including an appearance in the WNIT in 2019 where the Panthers met Minnesota in the first round.
• UNI played five games against Power-Five Opponents, the most among Missouri Valley Conference teams. The Panthers went 3-2 with wins over Iowa, Iowa State and Missouri.
