
Carnes Competes at USA vs Europe Event

MINSK, BELARUS – UNI 100-meter record holder Brandon Carnes ran the first leg of the third-place 4x100-mter relay team at The Match Europe v USA at the National Olympic Stadium in Belarus, Monday.
Europe and the US each had two teams in the race, all four teams finished within .5 seconds of each other.
Carnes was the leadoff leg for his team. The foursome finished third with a time of 38.70. The other Team USA squad won the race with a time of 38.26. A European team took second with a time of 38.45 and the final European team finished with a time of 38.76.
Carnes continues to impress on the national level. He made the semifinal in the USATF 100-meter race and raced in the final of the 2019 Adidas Boston Boost Games.
The Match pits the best track and field athletes from the United States against the best athletes from Europe. It is the last major competition before the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar, scheduled for Sept. 27-Oct. 6.
