Women's Golf Open Season With Iowa Dual

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI women's golf team will begin the 2019 fall schedule with a match play duel with the University of Iowa.
The Panthers will host the Hawkeyes at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. Pheasant Ridge is an 18 hole par 72 regulation course. The Championship course is tucked between Highway 57 and West 12th Street and west of Hudson Road. Well maintained and irrigated since 2005, you will find 159 acres of beautiful undulating terrain that measures 6,872 yards from the championship blue tees, 6,628 yards from the regular yellow tees, 6109 from the Purple tees and 5,650 yards from the red front tees.
The Panthers return five contributors from last year in Sydney Eaton, Hannah Bermel, Anne Gradoville, Emily Snellng and Hailey Bermel. Sydney Eaton led the Panthers last year, finishing as the MVC Tournament runner-up and ending with a 76.29 scoring average. Following closely behind Eaton is Hannah Bermel with a 78.15 stroke average.
Monday's match play event will be played from the purple tees. Nine Panthers and nine Hawkeyes will take the course, with teams receiving one point for a win and both teams receiving a half point for a tie. Monday's contest will begin at 10:30 am.
