Fourteen Panthers Named MVC to Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS - Six men and eight women from the UNI track and field team were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team, following the 2019 outdoor season.
Senior Isaac Holtz recorded his fourth men's scholar team selection. Joining Holtz are seniors Corey Hertz and Alex Jackson, along with Cameron Cantrall, Sven Van Den Bergh, and Carter VonEssen. Senior Alex Jackson was one of ten student-athletes with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.
For the women, two student-athletes, Hope Koerperich and Lyndsie Schinkel, received their third scholar team selections. Also selected were Lucy Conroy, Allison Griffin, Maddie McCalla, Alanna Nietert, and Alyssa Williams. Senior Brittany Davis joined Jackson with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.
In order to be nominated for this honors, student-athletes to have completed at least one year, maintain a 3.2 grade-point average and finish top-8 in an individual event or top-3 in a relay at either the Indoor or Outdoor Championships. Griffin, McCalla, Nietert, Schinkel, and Williams are recognized for the honor from both championships events.
This year, the Missouri Valley Conference honored 132 student-athletes for their performances in the classroom and at the championships for track and field.
UNI track and field continues its season Thursday through Saturday at the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, California.Â
