
Softball Picks Up Series Victory Against Bradley

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI softball picked up a series victory against the Bradley Braves with a 4-1 victory on Sunday.
Northern Iowa vs. Bradley | Final Score – W, 4-1
Jaclyn Spencer held the Braves to one run over six and a third innings on Sunday, while striking out nine, and allowing six hits and walking none. Spencer finished the weekend with 19 strikeouts in 11 and a third innings against Bradley. The win was Spencer's sixth of the season.
Brooke Craig came into the game to face one batter, and she got the hitter to ground into a double play, as she secured two outs while facing a single batter.
Both teams were held scoreless until the third inning, when Spencer doubled into left center to score Ashley Chesser and Sammey Bunch. The Panthers tacked on two more runs in the game, with the first coming on an Olivia Brooks single to right in the fourth inning, and the latter coming on a Brooks single to left field in the sixth inning.
Bunch finished the game with two runs scored, a hit and one walk. Chesser scored once and also walked twice, while Jenny Kohl recorded a base hit and a run scored.
The Panthers have now won six of their seven season-series with conference opponents. The sole season-series loss came to the Drake Bulldogs.

The Panthers host the Drake Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 23 for a single game before finishing their final home conference series with the Southern Illinois Salukis on April 27-28.
