Women's Golf Finish 2nd in MVC Championships

CHESTERTON, Indiana – Sydney Eaton finished second the MVC Championship to help the Panthers finish second as a team.
Tied at 220 after 54 holes, Eaton and Missouri States Abby Cavaiani went to the first tee for a sudden death playoff. Both players pared the first hole and moved to the par 4 ninth where Cavaiani outlasted Eaton to take the tournament title.
All five members of the team moved up in the individual standings on Tuesday to move the Panthers from seventh place to second. The Panthers second place finish ties the the team's best finish in program history, finishing runner up for the sixth time (2019, 2018, 2002, 1986, 1985, 1983).
Hannah Bermel moved up 20 spots on the final day, shooting a third round 71 to finish in a tie for fifth place. Emily Snelling finished with a final round with a 77, moving up six spots for a tie for 19th.
Senior Sarah McMichael moved up six spots to finish for a tie for 25th and Anne Gradoville moved up three spots with a final round 80 to finish in 46th.
Hannah Bermel was awarded the MVC's Elite 17 Award. The Elite 17 is awarded to the student athlete in the MVC Championship with the highest cumulative grade point average, Bermel currently has a 3.92 cumulative grade point average in Communications Science and Disorders.
