UNI Football Adds Fruechte as Wide Receivers Coach

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Football head coach Mark Farley Monday announced the hire of Isaac Fruechte as wide receivers coach.
Fruechte comes to UNI from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse where he served as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Eagles.
The Eagles averaged 32.1 points and 384.8 yards of offense per game in 2018. UW-La Crosse finished second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in scoring and passing offense and third in total offense. The Eagles finished 7-3 overall and placed second in the league in 2018 with a 5-2 record.
He joined the UW-La Crosse staff in March 2018 spending the spring season working with the wide receivers and then transitioning in the fall as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator
Wisconsin-La Crosse was his first coaching job. Prior to his time in time on the sideline, he made his name on the field in the NFL where had stops in Minneapolis and Detroit.
He played three seasons as a wide receiver for the University of Minnesota where he racked up 702 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 50 receptions.
He is a native of Caledonia, Minnesota, where he played high school football for his father Carl.
UNI begins the first of 15 spring practices Wednesday afternoon at the UNI-Dome.
