UNI Wrestling Signees Medal at State Championships

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI wrestling's five incoming freshmen closed out their prep careers with medals at their state tournaments.
Wisconsin native Parker Keckeisen ended a 57-year drought of high school champions for his high school, while Kyle Gollhofer became the first wrestler to win four titles for his school in Georgia.
Kansas native Dayton Porsch will enter college with just two losses in his prep career and four state titles. He is the first wrestler in state history to complete his high school career with fewer than three losses and four state titles.
Lance Runyon joins Keckeisen in FloWrestling's top-10 national rankings for high schoolers. Kaleb Olejniczak ends his prep career with four district titles at four different weights.
He stormed through the Iowa High School State Championships with falls in his first three matches. He won with a fall in 1:28, 44 seconds and 3:18 before taking the title in a 9-2 decision.
Runyon is a four-time medalist for Southeast Polk High School at the Iowa High School Championships. He took third as a junior at 152 pounds and was third as a sophomore at 132 pounds. As a freshman, he finished fifth in the 113-pound weight class.
Runyon is the son of Bob and Suzanne Runyon. He has two younger siblings, Kalob and Lucas. He volunteered with Best Buddies for a field trip and helps SEP wrestling at tournaments and youth practice. He also participates in Meals for the Heartland.
In addition to wrestling, Runyon participated in choir and enjoys singing and fishing. He was also recruited by Iowa, Ohio State, Nebraska, Campbell, South Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Columbia and Buffalo.
The Wisconsin standout strung together two undefeated seasons and earned bonus points in every match at the state tournament to secure a second title.
He opened the tournament with a 20-5 (2:20) tech fall, a 17-6 major decision and a 10-2 major decision before winning the title with a 19-4 (4:23) tech fall.
Keckeisen went undefeated in 2018 to secure the championship at 170 pounds for Nicolet High School.
He took second at 170 pounds as a sophomore in 2017. As a freshman, he was fifth in the 160-pound weight class.
Keckeisen earned All-American honors with a third-place finish at the Junior National Freestyle Championships. He won the UAW Preseason Nationals in 2017 and was a Cadet All-American in 2016. He is a three-time Fargo qualifier in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In addition to competing in wrestling, Keckeisen was in football for two years and track and field for a year. He earned a spot on the dean's list at Nicolet High School all four years and was a part of the NSC Leadership Conference. He volunteered with youth teams as a coach.
Keckeisen is the son of Lynne and James Keckeisen. He has two older sisters, Emma and Hannah. He plans to major in education or construction management. Air Force and Wisconsin also recruited him.
Gollhofer earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish at the UWW Cadet World Team Trials in 2017. He won the Southeast Regional tournaments in freestyle in 2018 and 2017. He was named County Wrestler of the Year the past two years and was a team captain of the wrestling team from his sophomore year to his senior year.
Gollhofer is also a member of FCA and BETA Club, as well as the Spanish National Honor Society and the National Honor Society.
He's the son of Rob and Christy Gollhofer. His older sister, Peyton, plays on the women's tennis team at Ball State University. In his spare time, Gollhofer likes to play the guitar. He plans to major in biology.
Porsch pinned every opponent in the state championship en route to his fourth title this year. His falls came in 25 seconds, 2:22, 2:23 and 1:48.
He went 16-0 in his final season with 11 wins by fall. In all, he notched 101 pins as a prep.
In addition to the state titles, he is coming off two championships at the 2018 Southern Plains Regional where he won in the Greco-Roman and freestyle divisions. He was awarded the Outstanding Wrestler Award in the Junior Division.
Porsch was named the 2018 WIN Magazine Wrestler of the Year for Kansas in 2018 and has made the honor roll each year in high school.
In addition to helping coach youth wrestling camps, he helps distribute food aid as a volunteer activity and enjoys hunting and fishing. He is the son of Michael and Tami Porsch and was coached by his dad. He has one older sibling, Tristan, and two younger sisters, Marissa and Chloe.
He has won his district all four years of high school, winning at 106 pounds as a freshman in 2016. He moved up to 113 pounds to take fourth at the state meet as a sophomore. Last year, he made it to the finals of the 126-pound match and finished second as a junior. This year he topped the field at districts at 138 pounds.
Olejniczak opened the state tournament with a major decision and decision before being bumped to consolations in sudden victory. He finished third at 138 pounds.
He is a four-sport athlete, also competing in baseball, football and track and field. Olejniczak earned academic all-state honors in wrestling for three years and is part of the National Honor Society. He has been on honor roll every semester.
He is the son of Jason and Tiffany. His older sister, Emma, is on UNI's softball team. He also has a younger sister, Lydia. Olejniczak volunteers with youth softball and wrestling, his church and the Big Buddy program.
Iowa State, Columbia and Brown also recruited him. Olejniczak plans to major in biology.

PARKER KECKEISEN – Glendale, Wisconsin | Nicolet High School

He earned back-to-back titles at 120 pounds as a junior and senior after moving up from 113 pounds as a sophomore and 106 pounds as a freshman.Gollhofer earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish at the UWW Cadet World Team Trials in 2017. He won the Southeast Regional tournaments in freestyle in 2018 and 2017.
