Cole, Khat Lead Panthers at NCAA Midwest Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – The UNI Panther men's cross country team finished 17th at the NCAA Midwest Regional while the women finished 25th Saturday at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater.
McKayla Cole finished 58th to lead the way for the Panther women in the 6K race with a time of 22:02.8. Paige Holub was the second runner for UNI, finishing with a time of 23:12.0. Haylee Luna ran a time of 23:23.8, Tess Roorda finished with a time of 23:37.6, Josie Kriener ran 24:17.7 and Maddie Block ran the course in 24:30.4.
On the men's side, Wal Khat finished 60th with a career-best time of 32:14.0. Logan Murray finished 84th with a time of 32:43.2 and CJ May was 91st with a time of 32:47.1. Drake Henrichs finished with a time of 33:23.2 and Sam McCool closed out the scoring for UNI at 33:44.9. Freshman David Holesinger notched a time of 34:33.8.
The meet is the final of the year for Panther cross country. The runners will now begin prep for the indoor track and field season which begins at the Jimmy Grant Invite on Dec. 13-14 in Iowa City.
