
No. 11 Panthers travel to Missouri State

The Panthers travel to Springfield, Missouri to face a Missouri State team that is 1-5 on the year. UNI is 4-3 after a win over South Dakota in the UNI-Dome. According to Massey Ratings, UNI has faced the toughest schedule to date in the FCS. The game is the 39th in the series and UNI leads 33-5, including a current UNI win streak of 13 games dating back to 2006.Â

 •The Panthers allow an uncharacteristic 21 points in the 17 minutes of game action, but after that point, UNI gave up just six points for the remainder of the game. The defensive performance combined with three touchdowns from Isaiah Weston and two from Tyler Hoosman led to the 42-27 win over South Dakota.Â

 • The win over Southern Utah was Head coach Mark Farley's 150th career victory.  He is the winningest coach in UNI and Missouri Valley Football History and the 10th coach in FCS history with 153 FCS victories.Â
 • The UNI defense is proving to be one the best in the FCS. UNI is ninth in 25th in total defense, 31st in scoring defense 11th in tackles for loss and 10th in sacks.Â

 • Isaiah Weston and Chris Kolarevic are building resumes for comeback player of the year honors. Weston missed all of last season and through seven games sits atop the MVFC in receiving TDs, Receiving yards and yards per catch. Kolarevic has played in just four games, but is already fifth on the team in total tackles and earned a pair of MVFC Player of the Week honors.Â
• The Panthers have earned a Missouri Valley Player of the Week honor after six of seven games this season. Cook was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after the Iowa State game, McElvain earned Newcomer of the Week honors after the Southern Utah game and Elerson G. Smith was named the Defensive Player of the Week after the Idaho State win and again after the Youngstown State victory. Against Weber State, McElvain earned his second newcomer of the Week honor and Chris Kolarevic picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors and again after the South Dakota game. Isaiah Weston was named the Offensive Player of the Week after the South Dakota game. Â
