UNI Wrestling to Face No. 2 Oklahoma State Friday

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – No. 16 UNI wrestling will face its highest ranked opponent on the road in undefeated No. 2 Oklahoma State this weekend.

The Panthers are coming off three consecutive wins in the West Gym with victories over Air Force, Northern Colorado and Oklahoma, which was receiving votes for the top 25.

UNI and Oklahoma State are the final teams with an undefeated record in the Big 12. OSU leads the series between the two teams, 26-2. UNI fell to the Cowboys in last year's dual at OSU, 24-10. The series dates back to 1962.

The Panthers enter the dual with six wrestlers in the NCAA rankings. Oklahoma State has all 10 wrestlers in the top 15.

RANKINGS
Many of OSU's wrestlers switch up weights and filled in at different spots in the Cowboys' last dual. Andrew Shomers wrestled at 165 pounds, but he is ranked at 157 pounds. Last year's starter at 149 pounds, Boo Lewallen, was back in the lineup in place of No. 4 Kaden Gfeller.The Panthers enter the dual with six wrestlers in the NCAA rankings.
