UNI returns home for the final two non-conference home games of the season. The Panthers host a pair of regional opponents that have short histories with the Panthers. The Panthers open the week against Minnesota State Wednesday at 5 p.m. as part of a doubleheader. The UNI men host Grand Canyon at 7:30 after the conclusion of the women's game.Â
UNI looks to rebound after a 83-57 loss to Iowa, but the Panthers are winners of four of the last six games and is 3-0 at home this season. Karli Rucker leads UNI with 15.3 points per game. Ellie Howell is second with 11.0 PPG. Leading rebounder Megan Maahs will miss the remainder of the season with an injury. Howell is second on the team with 4.6 RPG.Â
Minnesota State is 5-4 on the season and 2-3 in Northern Sun play. They topped Upper Iowa to break up a three-game losing streak. Taylor Drost leads MSU with 10.9 PPG and Brooke Tonsfeldt averages a game-high 7.7 RPG.Â
Omaha brings a 5-6 record into the McLeod Center. The Mavericks have dropped three of the last four against tough competition. Rayanna Carter leads the way at 9.6 PPG and Josie Filer averages 8.4 RPG.Â
