
Panthers Defeat Eastern Kentucky in Paradise

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands – The Panther men's basketball team won its first game of the Paradise Jam on Saturday afternoon, defeating Eastern Kentucky 90-85.
The Panthers were able to get off to a hot start, shooting over 51% from the field and making 8-16 three pointers in the first half. The Panthers headed into halftime with a 48-42 lead.
The Panthers finished the game shooting 44.8% from the field and made 11 three pointers. UNI held an 80-63 lead with just four and half minutes remaining in the game when Eastern Kentucky went on a deep run, closing the Panther lead to just five.
Freshman AJ Green dropped 23 points and grabbed three rebounds and two assists in his 26 minutes if play. Spencer Haldeman had an impressive night, shooting 4-5 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line for 16 points.
Isaiah Brown and Luke McDonnell each ended the night with 13 points and five rebounds while senior Wyatt Lohaus finished with 12 points.
Trae Berlow continues to play well on both ends of the court, finishing with just five points but brought in a team high six rebounds and recorded one assists.

The Panthers now set their sights on Old Dominion in their final game of the Paradise Jam. Old Dominion lost to Oregon State 61-56 and rebounded with a 65-47 victory over Kennesaw State. The Panthers and Monarchs will hit the court 2 p.m. CT Monday, Nov. 19, giving the team and day off and a chance to soak up the sun in the Virgin Islands.
