Sydney Eaton Earns MVC Golfer of the Week

ST.LOUIS – UNI's Sydney Eaton was named Golfer of the Week by the Missouri Valley Conference after two top 6 finishes at the Diane Thomason Invitational and the Creighton Classic.
The sophomore from Mason City, Iowa managed a sixth place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitation in Iowa City, Iowa. From Sept. 1-2 the golfers battled the weather, playing in cold and wet conditions. Eaton carded a first round 79, second round 79, and finished with a third round 73 to move her into a tie for sixth place.
The Panthers began play in the Creighton Classic at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska on Oct. 1. Eaton played well on the first day, carding a first round 75 and entered the second round tied 4th. Eaton went low on Tuesday, shooting the second lowest round of the day with a 73. The 148 total was good enough for second place.
The women's golf team have two more tournaments left in the fall schedule. The Panthers play in the MVC Preview at Sand Creek Country Club in Valparaiso, Indiana from Oct. 13-16, and the finish the fall season in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at the Diamante Country Club from Oct. 27-30.
