Panther Cross Country Races Tough Field at Bradley Pink Classic

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI cross country team is putting down stakes in Peoria, Illinois. 
Friday, the Panthers race in the Bradley Pink Classic, first of three consecutive races at the Newman Golf Course, hosted by Bradley University. The course will be the host site for both the Missouri Valley Conference Championship and the NCAA Midwest Regional.
UNI enters the race with positive momentum on the men's and women's sides.
Wal Khat finished 11th place at the Minnesota Griak Invitational while the Panther women finished 10th overall at the same meet which included some of the top teams in the Midwest.
The UNI women are currently ranked 15th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region.
Saturday's race is the final tune-up many teams will have to see the course for the NCAA Regional so the field is one of the toughest in the country.
The women's field includes 41 teams from the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, Big East, MAC, MVC, Summit League and more. The men's race will include 35 teams, but the field will be of the same level as the women's competition.
The women's race is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. and the men's race will begin at 4 p.m.
