Panthers Shut Out Chicago State, 5-0

Chicago—The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team (1-0) kicked off the 2017 season with a 5-0 win on the road at Chicago State (0-2).
On an assist from Kelsey Hansen, Sydney Hayden scored the first UNI goal in the 16th-minute. Brynell Yount nabbed the next goal in the 47th-minute.
Sarah Brandt would connect with Jamie Althiser for a goal in the 73rd-minute. Hannah McDevitt assisted Jordyn Rolli three minutes later. McDevitt would have the final Panther goal on an assist from Hansen in the 83rd-minute.
"It was a good performance all-around, creating chances and scoring five goals," remarked head coach Bruce Erickson. "We had great performances all around and our depth was especially good today."
The Panthers continues a road trip, competing at Nebraska-Omaha on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m.
