
Men's Golf Heads to Arkansas

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team will continue its spring season in Jonesboro, Arkansas at 8 a.m. on Mon., April 3.
The Panthers will compete at the RedWolves Intercollegiate tournament at the RidgePoint Country Club. Last year, the Panthers finished eighth as a team with round totals of 295-288-309, with a total of 892 (+40). The 54-hole tournament is expected to be a two-day tournament April 3-4.
UNI senior Dustin Atkinson notched a top-10 finish in the tournament last season with a seventh-place tie in the event. Atkinson shot rounds of 72-67-76 for a total of 215 for the tournament. In Atkinson's best tournament this spring, he finished tied for 16th at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament with scores each day of 75-73-73, for a total of 221 (+8).
Sophomore Davis Sutton looks to continue to build upon his success from the fall and spring while averaging 75.5 per round in six events. In his best action this spring, he finished tied for 34th and had day totals of 78-73-75, for a total of 226 (+13) at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament.
Also, junior Sam DeBartolo is coming off his best effort this season at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament. He led the team and tied for fifth in the tournament with per round scores of 71-74-71, for a total of 216. It was his season-best performance which lowered his average score to 75.72 in six events.
Senior David Spengler tied for 52nd last year at the RedWolves Intercollegiate tournament after securing scores of 77-77-75 for a three-round total of 229. In Spengler's best action this spring, he tied for 16th in the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament on March 20-21. He came into the second day tied for ninth and had a season-best second-round score of 71. His final round scores were 74-71-76, totaling 221 (+8).
Redshirt sophomore Marshal Lamb also looks to continue to improve throughout this spring. In his best contest this spring, he finished tied for 39th at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate tournament with day totals of 76-74-77, with a total of 227 (+14).
