Panthers Finish 10th at ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate

JONESBORO, Arkansas – The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team finished 10th at the Arkansas Sate Red Wolf Intercollegiate.
UNI posted a final round score of 296 for a three-round total of 916 (+52). The tournament was held at the RidgePointe Country Club.
Junior Sam DeBartolo tallied the best finish for the Panthers in a tie for 16th. DeBartolo shot a final round 73, which included four birdies.
Senior Dustin Atkinson fired an even-par round 72 to close out his three-round total of 227 (+11). Atkinson tied for 29th in the final standings, after posting a pair of birdies Tuesday.
Sophomore Davis Sutton finished four spots up from the first day and tied for 45th as he shot a final round 75. Sutton completed the three-round tourney with 231 strokes (+15). Sutton recorded seven total birdies, including two in the third round, of the event.
Senior David Spengler finished tied for 67th. He had scores of 79-80-78 in the tournament which totaled to 237 (+21).
One shot behind was redshirt sophomore Marshal Lamb who came in tied for 70th with scores of 83-79-76, with a total of 238 (+22) for tournament. Lamb had four birdies in the first day and four the second day.
Arkansas State (B) won the Red Wolf Intercollegiate tournament with consistent scores of 295-294-291, totaling 880 (+16). The second Arkansas State team finished in second place with close scores of 299-291-292, totaling 882 (+18). Matthew Cole of Arkansas State had the best individual score of the tournament with round scores of 72-70-71--213 (-3).
The Panthers will continue their season next at the Tiger Invitational tournament on April 10-11 at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri.
