
Golf Set To Start Spring Season In Dallas

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa men's and women's golf programs tee of their spring season at the Oral Roberts/Stephen F. Austin Spring Break Shootout in Dallas, Texas.
The women's team will start competition today at the Trophy Club Country Club with the men getting started on Tuesday, March 14.
Coming off the fall season, Senior Allison Rolinger is coming into the spring averaging 79.50 after five starts. She tied for fifth place in the Creighton Classic, Oct. 17-18. Rolinger hit a low round of 75 two times last season.
Junior Maddie Bertsch averaged 79.55 with four starts under her belt. Her lowest round of 76 came in the third round of the Little Rock Golf Classic in October. Bertsch came in tied for 11th in the Creighton Classic.
Junior Paige Van Dyk started all five classics in the fall and averaged 79.43 a round. She placed 14th in the Creighton Classic along with her fellow Panthers. Van Dyk's lowest round occurred in the second round of the MVC Preview.
For the men's team, senior Dustin Atkinson averaged 75.25 during the fall campaign. He finished tied for 22nd at the Zach Johnson Invitational. Last year in Dallas, Atkinson tied for fifth in individuals with a final round of 68. Atkinson poured in four birdies on the day at No. 7, No. 11, No. 16 and No. 18. Atkinson had a three-round total of 216 (74-74-68).
Sophomore Davis Sutton looks to add onto his success from the fall while averaging 74.92 in four events. At the Zach Johnson Invitational, he shot his best round of the season on round three with a 74, finishing second overall in the tournament.
Also, junior Sam DeBartolo averaged 76 over the fall season. He finished his best at the UNO Invitational. He set the pace for the men as he shot rounds of 69, 78, and 73, respectively. This consistent showing earned him a tie for seventh overall in the field.
