Panther Golf Wraps Up Spring Opener

DALLAS, Tx. - The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team wrapped up their spring opener on Wednesday at the Oral Roberts/Stephen F. Austin Spring Break Shootout in Dallas, Texas.
As a team, the Panthers finished in 12th place with a three round total of 957 on the par-72 course.
Senior Allison Rolinger finished the three days tied for 30th. She had a good third round after having shooting 12 pars for the day, however it wasn't enough to help her break into the top 20 player list. Rolinger's total for each round was 76-80-78, for a total of 234.
Junior Paige Van Dyk was next in line for the Panthers, finishing tied for 49th. Van Dyk recorded 13 pars in her third round. Her three day numbers were 76-78-85 for a tournament total of 239.
Next up for UNI was junior Maddie Bertsch. One birdie at No. 12 and 10 pars in the third round left Bertsch finishing tied for 61st. Her scores over the three rounds were 81-83-79 for a grand total of 243.
Sophomore Sarah McMichael came in with Bertsch tied at 61st, with 10 pars recorded for round three. McMichael's three day scores were 82-79-82, which gave her a total of 243.
Freshman Jenna Snyder ended the third round with two birdies on No. 4 and No. 10. Her totals for the shoot out were 87-91-83, for a grand total of those 261, which left her tied for 81st.
For individuals, UNI had Junior Whitney Dostal competing. Dostal had three day scores of 93-89-100 to land her in 85th place with a 282 total.
Eastern Kentucky won the shoot out with a grand total of 895 and being +31 over par.
