CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – A top-10 rematch at 149 pounds is expected when UNI wrestling hosts North Carolina Monday.

All-American Max Thomsen's first loss of the season came at the hands of UNC's Troy Heilmann at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite earlier this month. No. 6 Thomsen was edged out 3-2 by No. 4 Heilmann. Heilmann went on to take second, and Thomsen finished fourth at 149 pounds.

North Carolina also has the series advantage at heavyweight. UNI's Carter Isley and Cory Daniel met last year when Isley competed unattached as a true freshman at the Southern Scuffle. Daniel, a returning NCAA qualifier took the match in a 3-1 decision.

All-American Drew Foster beat North Carolina's Chip Ness 5-0 earlier this month at the Cliff Keen Invite. Foster is ranked ninth by FloWrestling, 10^th by Intermat and 13^th in Trackwrestling's poll. Ness is ranked 16^th by FloWrestling and 20^th by Intermat.

North Carolina has four returning NCAA qualifiers listed as probable starters for Monday. Danny Chaid (197 pounds) made it to the Round of 12 last year. Heilmann, Daniel and Ramos also saw action at last year's national tournament. Ramos is a three-time NCAA qualifier and former All-American. He was sixth at the national tournament as a redshirt freshman in 2015.
