Panther Train announces 2026-27 home opponents

UNI to host seven home events, including five McLeod Center duals plus two competitions in the UNI-Dome.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI wrestling team on Monday unveiled its home opponents for the 2026-27 season.
Northern Iowa will host a total of seven home events this coming season, including five duals inside the McLeod Center. In addition to the return of the National Wrestling Coaches Association's (NWCA) Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships to the UNI-Dome in January, this coming season will also see the first home dual matchup between UNI and Iowa since the 2010-11 season as Journeymen Wrestling presents the Dual In The Dome.
Times and dates for home events, as well as 2026-27 road competitions will be announced at a later date.
UNI's home slate will include reigning Big 12 champion Oklahoma State, as well as Oklahoma and Wyoming. Marquee duals will also include in-state rival Iowa State, as well as Ivy League power Cornell.
The NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships return to Cedar Falls in January for a third straight year, expecting to feature over 100 teams across multiple divisions in men's and women's wrestling. UNI has captured the last two Division I men's team titles in hosting the event.
The Panther Train will welcome in-state rival Iowa to the UNI-Dome for the "Dual In The Dome," presented by Journeymen Wrestling on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. CT. Live coverage of the event will be exclusively broadcasted on FloWrestling.
Season ticket renewals are currently underway through August 28 with new season ticket sales set to follow. Single-event tickets will go on sale at a later date.
2026-27 season ticket holders who have already renewed, as well as those currently holding new season ticket deposits, will receive special presale access and a 20% discount to purchase tickets for the "Dual In The Dome" beginning on Wednesday, July 22 as a capacity crowd is anticipated for the event. Admission to this dual is not included in UNI wrestling season ticket packages (or as part of TC's Kids Club/Young Alumni Tickets) and will be treated as a featured standalone event in the UNI-Dome. Eligible full-time, fee paying UNI students will be able to attend the event for free.
Tickets to the general public for the "Dual In The Dome" will go on sale on Wednesday, August 5. Full seating options and pricing will be announced at a later date.
