UNI Softball Defeats Mount Mercy

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's softball team competed in a 10-inning exhibition game against Mount Mercy University Wednesday afternoon at Robinson-Dresser field in Cedar Falls.
Bailey Lange started the game off strong by striking out the side in the top of the first.
The Panthers were successful in bringing four Panthers home in the bottom of the first.
The bottom of the second was equally successful by bringing home three Panthers, giving UNI the upper hand with a score of 7-0.
Bailey Lange, Jaci Spencer, Alyssa Bucanan, and Brooke Craig were all able to hold off the Mustangs to only a single run.
While there was no official scoring, the game ended with a 7-1 score in favor of the Panthers.
The Panthers next appearance is at the All-Iowa Classic which starts September 30 against University of Iowa at 6 p.m. at Robinson-Dresser Field.
