BROOKINGS, S.D. - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team was unable to overcome a slow start against South Dakota State Friday evening, falling 3-0.
The Panthers found themselves down early with a third-minute goal setting the pace. Despite firing off nine shots, solid goal keeping kept UNI off the board.
Sarah Brandt registered three shots for the Panthers, while Brynell Yount had two. Marianne Gagne, Mary Brandt, Kelsey Yarrow and Claire Netten all fired one shot.
The Panthers look to get back on track this Sunday in the regular season home-opener against Saint Ambrose. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. Follow along online via UNI athletics.
