UNI Soccer's Offense Breaks Out in 4-2 Win

WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team scored early and often in its first win of the season, beating Saint Ambrose, 4-2.
The Panthers scored three minutes in on a pass from Hannah McDevitt that found Kelsey Yarrow on a breakaway. She fired her shot off the left post and into the back of the net.
Saint Ambrose would find an equalizer in minute 28. However, the match wouldn't stay tied for long. UNI would once again take the lead on an Amber Nieland corner that curled its way into the goal nine minutes later.
Finishing out the first half, the Panthers found their third goal on an assist from Jamie Althiser that Sydney Hayden buried into the far corner.
The offensive fireworks would continue in the second half with Nieland giving the Panthers their fourth goal off a long ball from Julianne Trizzino. Four goals is the most scored for the Panthers since a 5-0 win in 2012.
UNI will look to build off this strong showing with a match up against Arkansas on the road this Thursday, Sept. 1.
