The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball will stay in-state this weekend when they play at the University of Iowa on Sunday, Dec. 4. The game is set for a 2 p.m. tip in Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.

About the Hawkeyes: Iowa enters the game against the Panthers 5-3 overall. The Hawkeyes started the season on a 4-0 winning streak, but have dropped three of their last four games, including a 73-58 loss to No. 1 Notre Dame. They are led by senior Ally Disterhoft who is averaging 18.1 points and 6.1 rebounds and Megan Gustafson who is currently ranked fourth in the country in field goals made (60) and field goal percentage (69.8).
That UNI Connection: Lisa Bluder, head coach for Iowa, is in her 17th year at the helm of the program. She may be a Hawkeye now, but once upon a time, the Marion, Iowa, native was a three-year starter for the Panthers. She graduated from UNI in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Defensive Scheme: Prior to UNI's game against South Dakota State (12/1), Jackrabbit guard Macy Miller was averaging 17.0 points per game. Against UNI, the junior only scored six points and didn't score a field goal until the final quarter of the game.
Bench Team: UNI outscored SDSU (12/1) in bench points, 21-12. UNI was down by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter, but the youth on the bench shined, cutting it to an 11-point game. Kennedy Kirkpatrick led the Panthers off the bench against the Jackrabbits, turning in her second double-digit performance of the season with 10 points.
Rebounding Numbers: Hannah Schonhardt led the Panthers in rebounds for the fifth game this season, bringing down nine against South Dakota State (12/1). Seven of her nine boards were on the defensive side, making her career defensive rebound total 422. She cracked the top-10 all-time in career defensive boards, ranking No. 9.
Success All Around: Newcomer Kennedy Kirkpatrick has quickly proved that she is a versatile player in her first year with the Panthers. Through seven games, she ranks third on the team in rebounds (3.3 per game), fourth in assists (1.4 per game) and third in steals (5).
Closing on 100: Madison Weekly has played in a career 99 games for the Panthers. Through seven games in 2016-17, Weekly has moved up on the career all-times lists at UNI, averaging 16.0 points per game this season.
