LAMONI, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team defeated Graceland University 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in their lone exhibition match of the season. The Panthers scored goals from all areas of the field as forward Maggie Riley, midfielder Kelsey Yarrow, and defender Kelsey Hansen all found the back of the net in the contest.
"We dominated the game in terms of possession and chances created," said UNI Head Coach James Price. "We have to try to be more decisive and efficient in front of the goal and also make sure we don't lose concentration at the wrong times. Everybody played and we stayed injury free so lots of positives and good experience this weekend."
The Panthers will begin regular season play on Friday, August 21 when they take on Green Bay at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex in Waterloo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
