The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team is prepped to take on North Dakota on Saturday, Dec. 5. The road match will tip off at 2 p.m. CT.
The Series: The Panthers hold a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Fighting Hawks. The series began in 1978, but three of the four games have been played in the last six years. The last time UNI took on North Dakota was on Nov. 12, 2013 when the Panthers picked up a 61-56 win in the McLeod Center with Jen Keitel leading the team in points with 14.
About the North Dakota: North Dakota enters the game 1-5 overall. They have played five of their six games on the road, including against MVC foe Drake. The Fighting Hawks are led by Makailah Dyer and Mia Loyd, who are averaging 13.5 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. They are coached by Travis Brewster (4th season), who will enter Saturday's game with a 51-47 coaching record at North Dakota.

Boards and Buckets: Madison Weekly scored a team-high 26 points against Iowa State (12/2), just one shy of her career-high. She racked up a career-high eight rebounds, adding five assists, a block and two steals.
Doubling Up: Ellie Herzberg has reached double-figures in two of the last three games, scoring 12 against the Cyclones (12/2). She added a career-high four assists along with two steals and four rebounds.
Sharp Shooter: Madison Weekly tied her career-high in made field goals, dropping nine against Iowa State (12/2). The last time she hit nine field goals was against Missouri State on Feb. 1, 2015. She has moved into 11th all-time at UNI in career scoring average (11.7), while averaging 15.3 this season to rank her third in the Valley.

Valley on ESPN3: ESPN and the Missouri Valley Conference have announced a 10-year extension to their current media rights agreement that will provide increased coverage of conference events across ESPN platforms through the 2023-24 academic year. As part of the deal, ESPN, the MVC and its 10 member institutions will work jointly to develop in-house production capabilities at each campus that will provide significant national coverage for multiple sports on ESPN3 and hands-on educational opportunities for students. As a result, ESPN3 will showcase a minimum of 820 events a year (a minimum of 70 men's basketball) in the final six years of the agreement.
