UNI Wraps Up Non-Conference Play At Creighton

The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team will take its final road trip of 2015 when the battle the Creighton Bluejays in Omaha, Neb. on Tuesday, Dec. 22. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. CT.
The Series: UNI is 16-35 all-time against Creighton, with Creighton holding a 6-0 run in the series on the Panthers heading into Tuesday's game. Creighton was a member of the Missouri Valley Conference before heading to the Big East for the 2013-14 season.
About the Bluejays: Creighton enters the game with a 5-6 overall record. The Bluejays were on a four-game losing streak prior to beating Nebraska-Omaha 69-46 on Sunday, Dec. 20. The Bluejays returned four of its starters to the court this season, but are currently being led by true freshman Audrey Faber. The Clive, Iowa native is averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this season.

Panthers vs. The Big East: The Panthers have only faced off against four teams that are current members of the Big East Conference. UNI holds a 21-42 overall record against the 10-member league. Four of UNI's wins over Big East schools are against Marquette, including UNI's first-ever WNIT win over the Golden Eagles in 2013.
Non-Conference: UNI's 75-59 win over Tulsa (12/20) gave them five non-conferences wins this season, the most since the 2012-13 season. The win over the Golden Hurricane also gave UNI a 5-5 record this year, giving them their best winning percentage during non-conference play since 2011-12.
Season Lows: Prior to the game against Tulsa, UNI had held all nine of its opponents to season-lows in points. The lowest points scored against the Panthers this season was 39 points by Rockhurst University.
Combining for More: Amber Sorenson and Madison Weekly have combined to score 57 of UNI's 81 made three-pointers this season. They have also combined to shoot 50-percent or higher from the arc 10 times this season.

Starting Line: Angie Davison played a career-high 27 minutes in her second-career start as a Panther in UNI's win over Tulsa (12/20). She tied her career-high with nine points along with two assists and two steals.

Getting the Call: True freshman Dariann Garrison-Nickerson played her first collegiate game against Tulsa (12/20).

For The Gold: After the 2014-15 season finished, Tanya Warren was awarded the unique opportunity to coach for her country after being named an assistant coach for Team USA at the World University Games in South Korea. During the month of July, Warren traveled overseas with Team USA for the tournament, eventually defeating Canada in the championship game for Gold.
Recent Additions: Head Coach Tanya Warren announced the addition of two student-athletes to the 2016-17 roster on Nov. 11. "I am so excited to welcome Megan and Abby to our Panther family. Megan will provide us some much needed front court depth. She is so versatile with her ability to score inside and shoot the ball from the perimeter as well. Abby brings us great size and athleticism on the perimeter. She will fit well with what we like to do in transition and we also love her ability to the shoot the three."

Valley on ESPN3: ESPN and the Missouri Valley Conference have announced a 10-year extension to their current media rights agreement that will provide increased coverage of conference events across ESPN platforms through the 2023-24 academic year. As part of the deal, ESPN, the MVC and its 10 member institutions will work jointly to develop in-house production capabilities at each campus that will provide significant national coverage for multiple sports on ESPN3 and hands-on educational opportunities for students. As a result, ESPN3 will showcase a minimum of 820 events a year (a minimum of 70 men's basketball) in the final six years of the agreement.
