UNI Drops Opening Game in Northern Arizona Tournament, 2-1

The Panthers started the game off fast, scoring in the game's sixth minute. Junior Kelsey Dolder found sophomore Claire Clark for a header that found the back of the net.
Southern Utah scored the equalizer in the 18th minute with a goal from Missy Lazcano. The Thunderbirds took the lead for good on a goal by Shelby Ostler in the 84th minute.
UNI (1-2-0) was outshot in the game 18-9. The Thunderbirds also had the advantage in shots on goal, 9-4. UNI had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-3.
Sophomore Claire Clark, junior Melissa Hagan, and senior Kala Negus each tallied two shots for the Panthers. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Potzman recorded seven saves in the match.
The Panthers will play the host team, Northern Arizona, on Sun., Aug. 28th at 1 p.m.
