WEST POINT, New York - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team captured a victory over Quinnipiac University, 5-2. The Panther now hold an 8-5 record on the season.
The Panther duo of Laia Gonzalez-Garrido took an 8-5 victory in the No. 1 doubles to start the Panthers off strong for the day. The Panthers also took the No. 3 doubles spot.
The Panthers then went on to win four of the six singles matches at the meet. Walker scored a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the No. 1 spot . Gonzalez-Garrido took a 6-2, 6-2 win over Adrienne Markison in the No. 2 spot. Chelsea Moore took the win in the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-2. Ending with a defeat by Krissy Lankelma, 6-1 and 6-3 in the No. 6 matchup.
The Bobcats scored victories in the No. 3 and 4 matches.
The Panthers will return to action tomorrow, taking on Army at 9:00 a.m.
