
Panthers Earn Seventh Straight Win With 58-34 Victory Over Bradley

Lizzie Boeck led UNI (15-5, 8-1 MVC) with 16 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Jacqui Kalin finished with 13 points and four rebounds, and Rachel Madrigal finished with nine points. Erin Brocka grabbed seven rebounds while dishing out five assists.
Katie Yohn led Bradley (10-10, 2-6 MVC) with 11 points and eight rebounds.
UNI held an 8-7 lead with 14:32 left in the first half. The Panthers outscored Bradley 23-5 over the next 11:30 to build a 31-12 lead with three minutes on the clock. Bradley scored with 2:55 remaining, but a free throw from Amber Kirschbaum and a layup and free throw from Boeck gave UNI a 35-14 lead at the break.
The Panthers maintained at least a 20-point lead throughout the second half, extending their advantage to as many as 28 points on the way to the victory.
UNI shot 33.9 percent (21-62) from the floor, including 6-of-23 (26.1 percent) from three-point range. The Panthers connected on 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) free-throw attempts.
Bradley shot just 10-of-52 (19.2 percent) from the floor, the lowest shooting percentage for a UNI opponent this season. The Braves were 2-of-17 (11.8 percent) from behind the arc and 12-of-19 (63.2 percent) from the free-throw line.
The Panthers converted Bradley's 25 turnovers into 16 points BU turned UNI's 16 turnovers into 12 points. The Panthers also tallied seven fast break points.
Bradley held a slight 45-44 edge on the glass, but UNI scored 10 second-chance points compared to eight for the Braves.

NOTES: The last time UNI held three straight opponents to fewer than 40 points was in the 1971-72 season when the Panthers topped Upper Iowa 58-36, Luther 39-35 and Upper Iowa 49-35 in consecutive contests … Not only have the Panthers held their last three opponents to fewer than 40 points, but each of those three opponents has scored 16 or fewer points in the first half … Bradley's 34 points are the fewest allowed by the Panthers since topping Iowa Wesleyan 75-24 on Feb. 9, 1974 … UNI's 8-1 MVC record is its best start to conference action since joining the Division I ranks in 1982 … UNI's seven-game win streak is its longest since winning seven straight in 2006-07.
