
Panthers in 15th Place after Day One of UALR Women's Golf Classic

The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team stands in 15th place after the first day of competition at the UALR Women's Golf Classic in Hot Springs, Ark. The Panthers posted team rounds of 318 and 315 to total 633 for the first two rounds.
Sophomore Brittany Atterbury led the way for the Panthers, firing a second-round 71 to post her best score of the season. Atterbury finished with a 78-71--149 (+5) card to put herself in a tie for 13th place in the individual standings. She is currently seven strokes behind leader Crystal Reeves of Oral Roberts, who opened with a 73-69--142 (-2).
Sophomore Ann Arnason shot 81-78--159 (+15). Katie Tabbert (168) and Abby Bermel (180) completed the Panthers' lineup.
Middle Tennessee State leads the team race with a score of 291-297--588 (+12). Oral Roberts sits three strokes back in second place, and host University of Arkansas-Little Rock is five strokes back in third place.
Play will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday at Diamante Country Club.
