Panther Track and Field Opens Competition at Meyo Invitational

South Bend, Ind. - The University of Northern Iowa track and field squads started their weekend at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame Friday evening. The Panthers took part in the women's 5,000 meter run, shot put and distance medley relay this evening.
Adam Pinckney took 13th place in the shot put, heaving 54-02.50.
In the women's 5,000 meter run freshmen Danielle Nowasel finished in 17:52.84 for 16th place while fellow freshman Carly Olsen came in close behind at 17:58.02 for 19th place.
In the men's distance medley relay, the quartet of Greg Offerman, Mike Craddick, Corbin Miller and Brady Fritz combined for a fifth place finish with a time of 10:01.83.
The Panthers resume competition tomorrow morning, with the women's 3,000 meter race beginning at 9 a.m.
