Jadyn Spencer has joined the University of Northern Iowa athletic department as an academic athletic advisor.
Spencer will advise the soccer, tennis, wrestling, men's/women's golf and men's/women's cross country/track and field squads for their academic needs.
Spencer earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Alabama in May 2015. She is a candidate for master’s degree in sport management from Alabama in August 2016.
She was a member of the Crimson Tide softball team from 2011-2015 where she helped Alabama to three trips to the Women’s College World Series. Spencer and the Crimson Tide captured the program’s first NCAA title in 2012. Over her four seasons on the field, she played in 183 games and made 150 starts for the Crimson Tide. She was a third-team NFCA all-south region selection in 2013.
Spencer served as a graduate teaching assistant in Alabama’s department of kinesiology in 2015-16. She advised undergraduate students on degree requirements and aided them in building a class schedule. She also assisted in constructing and developing lesson plans for activity courses in the kinesiology department.
She is a native of Waterloo, Iowa, and graduated from Waterloo West High School. She was a five-time all-state selection in softball as a prep player. She was selected the Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.
