Coach Aldin Muhamedagic was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Europe) where he played club soccer before coming to United States. Throughout his playing career, Aldin was exposed to different coaching styles that helped him become an outstanding soccer player and coach as well as a respected individual in the community.
After he moved to the United States in 1997, he joined the Iowa Soccer League where he took on the role of a Coordinator of the Iowa Soccer League. He guided and helped the league to form teams and establish its competitive level of soccer. As a player and a young coach, Aldin played a crucial role in establishing the club soccer team Krajisnik in Waterloo, along with the other members of the Bosnian- Croatian Association.
Coach Aldin served as a Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at Waverly Shell-Rock High School where in his first two seasons he guided the team to two consecutive 3rd place finishes at State Tournament (2013 & 2014) for the first time in school history.Â
After receiving a B.S. in Business Administration he has gone on to receive a M.S. in Physical Education emphasis coaching/teaching from UNI. He is now pursuing his Ed.D. in the Department of Leisure Youth and Human Services at UNI. Coach Aldin has taught Personal Wellness classes and Advanced Soccer Theory at UNI, and has been a true inspiration to his students, fellow faculty members and community.
Coach Aldin is interested in developing the whole person which includes; skills relevant for winning soccer matches, a competitive spirit and most importantly good sportsmanship/citizenship. He is the type of coach that cares, believes and motivates the players to do well. His overall mission is not only to provide good quality coaching but also to educate players and lead by example. Coach Aldin has been married to Sejla for 16 years and they have two children, Adijan, 14 and Selena, 8. Coach Aldin is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
