MVC Commissioners' Academic Excellence Awards and MVC Honor Roll ... CSC Academic All-District … Appeared in 41 games making 40 starts … Batted .252 with 29 hits and 23 runs in 115 at-bats and 13 walks … recorded a .470 slugging percentage with seven home runs, four dobles, and 26 RBIs … Scored a season-high four runs at UIC (March 22) … Finished the season with 56 putouts and two assists in 58 chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage including a season-high six putouts against Loyola-Chicago (Feb. 8) ... Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
Â2024: MVC Newcomer of the Week (Apr. 9) … Easton/NFCA Scholar All-America ... MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and MVC Honor Roll ... Appeared in eight games … Recorded a .247 batting average with 18 hits, one double, one triple, four home runs, seven RBIs, eight walks drawn, one stolen base, 12 runs scored and a .452 slugging percentage … Made her UNI/Division I debut against Omaha (Feb. 10) … Five multi-hit games with two hits against Iowa State (Apr. 2), Missouri State (Apr. 6), Bradley (Apr. 14) and Drake (Apr. 17 / Apr. 23) … Hit her first Division I home run against South Alabama (March 8) … Notched 12 putouts and two assists defensively for a .933 fielding percentage.
Â2023 (MINNESOTA STATE - MANKATO): Played in all 50 games for the Mavericks, recording a .298 batting average with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases... Smithson also posted a team-high 33 RBIs... Made 46 starts and primarily played in right field.Â
ÂHIGH SCHOOL: Attended Johnston High School and was a three-sport athlete... She led the Dragons to a CIML Central Championship in 2021 and 2022 and helped the team finish in fourth place at state in 2019... Also competed in track and volleyball in high school.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Abby and Todd Smithson... Younger sister, Ella, is also on the UNI softball team.
