Scheuermann comes to UNI from Keosauqua, the seat of Van Buran County with a population just over 1,000 people. At Van Buren, she led the Warriors with 451 points last season, 214 rebounds and set the all-class single-season block record with 181. She has 1,266 career points, 605 career rebounds and is poised to blow away the career All-Class block record. Right now, she has 470 in three seasons, just 45 blocks short of WNBA Player Kiah Stokes' All-Class record of 515. She helped lead Van Buren to district co-championships in volleyball and basketball last year. Scheuermann earned Second-Team All-State honors her junior year, was named the conference Co-MVP her junior season and named the Burlington-Hawkeye Player of the Year her junior season. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a platinum honor roll student and ranked in the top-10 in her class. Scheuermann's family built a full-court, indoor hardwood basketball court on their property to help meet the small community's need for more gym space.
