2015: INDOOR: Ran a personal-best in the mile of 4:23.44 at the Panther Open (1/17) … scored a personal-best in the 3,000 meters of 8:36.25 at the Meyo Invitational (2/6), placing fifth overall.
2015: OUTDOOR: Competed in the 1,500 meters at the Wisconsin Open (5/8), finishing with a time of 4:02.05 … ran in the 5,000 meters at the MVC Championships (5/18), scoring team points with a sixth place finish and time of 15:22.01.
Prior to UNI: Competed at Iowa Western and was a national qualifier in the 3,000 meters … earned All-Region while at Iowa Western … was part of the Dean’s List.
High School: Helped his team to the 2010 cross country 1A state championship … earned first team all-conference and all-district honors … placed 14th at state in cross country … was a state qualifier for track in the 3,200 meters.
Personal: Son of Laura O’Connell … has two siblings, Marquavis and Briana … majoring in exercise science with a minor in coaching.
