2009-10: Earned first career All-America honor finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships...began his journey to the medal stand in a pigtail match at 174 pounds, upsetting No. 5-seeded Scott Glasser from Minnesota in a decisive 14-7 decision followed by a 8-6 decision over Michigan's Justin Zeerip, battling through a torn hip flexor muscle, Beets was forced to injury default in the seventh-place match...Won the 174-pound title at the NCAA West Regional Championships...Earned first-team All-WWC honors...Finished the season with a 22-12 record, including 14-7 in dual matches...won five matches by a major decision score...named team Most Valuable Wrestler. 2008-09: Marked a 15-9 record on the season...had big wins over Shane Onufer (Wyoming) and David Rella (Ohio State)...missed majority of second semester due to a concussion at the National Duals. 2007-08: Secured six overall wins and one dual victory ... helped UNI to a 42-3 dual victory over South Dakota State (2/10) when he notched a 3-2 victory over Ryan Meyer, who had been a national qualifier the previous season ... captured the 165-pound title at the Duhawk Open (2/2) ... notched three falls on the season. 2006-07: Redshirted ... posted an 8-6 record as an unattached wrestler in the open tournament portion of the season.
