REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2015-16): Knocked off two top-20 opponents as an unranked wrestler: No. 15 Steve Bleise of Northern Illinois in a dual at NIU and No. 17 Anthony Abidin of Nebraska at the Midlands Championships ... tied with teammate Jake Hodges for Buena Vista Open title at 141 pounds ... fourth at Harold Nichols Cyclone Open ... his 26-second fall over Lane Nicholas of Morningside tied for the team's fastest fall of the season .... wrestled in two duals and finished with a 23-8 overall record.
FRESHMAN (2014-15): Redshirted ... won the Buena Vista open competing unattached at 141 pounds ... tallied eight falls in five open tournaments ... never gave up bonus points during the season ... posted a record of 16-8.
HIGH SCHOOL: Placed in the top three at the Iowa state championships all four years of high school, placing second as a freshman (103 pounds), third as a sophomore (106 pounds), winning as a junior (120 pounds) and second as a senior (132 pounds) ... posted a 173-18 record ... set school record at Valley High School for most wins in a season (47), most wins in a career (173), most falls in a season (39), most falls in a career (93) ... also recruited by Iowa, Grand View and Wartburg.
