Panther women’s golf opens the season in Illinois

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI women's golf starts its 2026-2027 season on Sunday, September 13th, at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Illinois.
This year's Redbird Invitational will consist of three rounds, with 36 holes being played on Sunday and 18 more for round three on Monday, September 14th. Live results will be made available online through Scoreboard. Scorecards will also be posted on social media after the completion of a round.
Set at Weibring Golf Club, it is 6,619 total yards, and the par is 72. This year's field includes 10 teams from around the country, including Augusta, Butler, Denver, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois State (Host), Illinois Wesleyan, Indiana State, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and St.Thomas.
UNI returns six golfers from the 2025-26 roster this season, including two seniors, one being Addison Berg, who shot a season-low 73 in the third round of the Redbird Invitational last season. Berg is also tied with Jane Petersen for the best round average at 80.03 after 30 rounds of golf last season. Petersen had a strong freshman-year campaign and led the Panthers in four of ten tournaments.
UNI placed 10th at last year's MVC Championship and is looking to improve upon that this season. The other four returners yet to be mentioned are Greenlee Smock, who shot an average score of 85.03, with a season-low 77 at The Lady Clerico. Isabella Pettersen had an average of 82.06, with a season-low of 77 at the Big O Classic. Lauren Nuss, in 9 total rounds, finished with an average of 87.44 and a season-low of 83 at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Jayeanna Palm is looking to make her collegiate debut now as a sophomore. The Panthers are also bringing on two freshmen, Camille Wood and Brinley Carlson.
