CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI Athletics on Monday announced the hiring of Jens Jorgensen as its new Athletics Ticketing Account Executive.
Additionally, UNI also announced the promotion of Dylan Petersen to the position of Director of Sales.
In his role, Jorgensen will assist in ticket sales for UNI events and guest experiences for fans. Petersen, who has been with the UNI Ticketing Office since 2024, will manage the outbound ticket sales and service for the UNI Athletic Department.
"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to my hometown and join the UNI Athletics family," said Jorgensen. "Having grown up attending Panther games with family and friends, it's especially exciting to begin my full-time career in college athletics at UNI. I look forward to helping our team continue its success by growing ticket sales, creating memorable experiences for our fans and supporting our student-athletes."
Jorgensen's hiring comes after UNI Athletics signed with Taymar in July, establishing the North Carolina-based sports marketing company as the Panthers' new ticketing sales firm.
Jorgensen joins the UNI staff following a stint as a ticket operations intern with the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines, where he processed walk-up ticket requests, as well as online and phone sales. He also supported premium seating operations, along with gameday operations and special events for the Triple-A baseball team.
During his undergraduate education at Iowa State, as well as his postgraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Jorgensen assisted in athletic ticket operations for both the Cyclones and Golden Gophers. In both of his positions, he provided box office assistance and managed inbound and outbound calls for ticket requests, while developing experience in multiple ticketing management systems including Paciolan, Archtics and ProVenue. While at Minnesota, Jorgensen also supported fundraising efforts for the Golden Gopher Fund by promoting donations during ticket sales.
A Cedar Falls native, Jorgensen earned his bachelor's degree in public relations, advertising and applied communications from Iowa State in 2023, and his master's degree in sport management from Minnesota in 2026.
"I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to continue serving Panther Athletics in this new role," Petersen said. "The relationships I've built with our fans, donors, campus partners, and the community have been the most rewarding part of my journey at UNI. I look forward to strengthening those connections while helping create an unforgettable experience for everyone who supports UNI Athletics."
Prior to joining UNI two years ago, Petersen, a Hudson, Iowa native, served as the Director of Operations for the Cedar Valley's arena football team, the Iowa Woo during its inaugural 2024 season. In his position, he organized and oversaw all operations of the team's events, managed a staff of two dozen part-time employees, interns and volunteers and sold corporate partnerships to several local businesses.
Petersen also spent four years as owner and an event coordinator for Heartland Combat Sports/Iowa Challenge, Iowa's premier combat sports event. He also assisted in other area combat sporting events on coordination, marketing and ticketing. Petersen also spent six years as a special education paraeducator and baseball coach for seventh and eighth graders in the nearby Hudson Community School District.
