CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI women's tennis team returns to action, after nearly a month off, this weekend with a pair of road matches, traveling South to face Belmont and Murray State. These will be the Panthers' first games of the MVC slate.
The Panthers will be opening the weekend on Friday, March 27, taking on Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT. UNI will then continue its road swing on Saturday, March 28, facing Murray State in Murray, Kentucky, with a 10 a.m. start time.
UNI enters the weekend with momentum following a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory over Western Illinois in its last outing. After dropping the doubles point, the Panthers responded with a strong singles performance, winning four of six matches to secure the win.
Leading the charge was Lucia Schuknecht at No. 2 singles, who earned a decisive three-set victory. Yangjiaxin Li added a straight-set win at No. 3, while Andrea Noa Galin battled through three sets at No. 4 to claim another point for UNI. Kayla Santosa clinched the team victory with a gritty straight-set win at No. 5.
